Before we begin, I think the Shade Tree has something to say about last night’s episode…
Oof! That was a rough one!
Нет! о черт возьми!
That screaming you hear in Russian is the sound of the many disappointed fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race because, once again, mother Ru made a decision that is going to anger the fans.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Let us start off with some therapy. Some puppet therapy.
“At its core, RuPaul’s Drag Race is a story about the tenacity of the human spirit.” – RuPaul
If I might correct Mother Ru for just a moment, at its true core RuPaul’s Drag Race is a fabulous reality competition that is also a thinly veiled parody of reality competitions. And nowhere was it more apparent than tonight with a parody of not one but two reality shows. And just like all reality television, the results were manipulated to the nth degree.
And we’re back… with what was a surprisingly mediocre episode. I say surprisingly because this should have been a great episode. Between having one of the most eagerly awaited mini-challenges of the show, and having a long-overdue main challenge (I refuse to call them a maxi-challenge), my expectations were high. But alas, it was a gloriously entertaining mess when it should have been something transcendent.
But before we begin, let’s start with an important announcement by clapping for this hooker…
Before we begin, let’s start with this open letter from dear Max’s dear mother, who had a word or two to say about the editing of last week’s episode:
How can you not love that! And now it’s time for another episode of “Wow! The internet rumors are right!”
Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, it’s time to meet the returning queen…
Okay fellow drag enthusiasts, we have a lot to unpack about this episode. A bizarre musical challenge, a strange choice in guest judge, and a head-scratcher of an ending.
And of course, embeddable tweets! Starting with this summary from the home team…
I don’t think Episode Four made any sense.

Oh, Thank God!
And we’re back with another high-flying episode of everyone’s favorite reality-television show. (And no I’m not talking about the shenanigans in the barn at the end of The Bachelor!) After a somewhat lackluster season debut the show rights itself with what could possibly be one of my favorite episodes and challenges in the show’s herstory.
